How Many Holes Could you Play Having to Watch This Pre Shot Routine?

This is Bailey Shoemaker at the Augusta Women’s Am. She was injured and has just returned to playing after being out 7 months. She is so afraid of pain this is her pre shot now. I think I would quit after the first hole.

Gross.

Women's golf in general is painfully slow and for me, especially college, is virtually impossible to watch.

Her playing partner should report her by the second hole but I'm sure the playing partner is almost equally as slow.

This is a BS excuse.

Sent this to one of my golf group texts.... I would honestly quit. I don't think I could do this for 18 holes, unless I was playing really really good. I know I couldn't do it if I wasn't playing good.

First, in the pro game, someone like that would get too many pace-of-play penalties to ever qualify.

Your average golfer who did that would never be able to find playing partners.

The first thing I thought of...

I’m still pissed that Wang didn’t get an Academy Award nomination.

I see that sort of pre shot routine every weekend only it’s a 25+ handicap and the ball is typically topped/chunked and he starts it all over again. Meanwhile carts are just lining up on the tee box.

It’s not just at the cheap muni courses either.

My experience in junior golf gas been the boys are significantly slower...

I personally think that Bailey can't do that and my daughter laughed when we watched it live - if she can't play she can't play but if she did that x40 some strokes minus putting thsts not ok

There are some super slow girls but at AJGA events for example we always waiting on super slow boys especially around the greens

My daughters aren't slow - they play with high level adults all the time and never an issue

I coach my daughter’s HS team and I’ve seen some painfully slow female golfers. So I get it.

But yeah, I’ve been caught behind some pretty bad golfers over the years. Hell a couple of weeks ago got caught behind 4 guys that I’m fairly certain had never swung a club before. They were awful. That and the groups that insist on playing from the tips know good and damn well they need to be play two tee boxes forward

I would never play with her again. Pace of play is way more important than score when you’re an amateur. I’ll die on that hill.

Not mine. Some boys are bad but the girls are PAINFUL(this is ages 9-10)

and it carries over to college and pros. Men are slow; but the women’s pace is egregious at those levels . If they played the men’s setups I can’t imagine the time it would take

But it doesn’t need to be separated by gender, golf at all tournament levels has gotten out of control with the pace

Not even arguable. I don’t give a shite what the person playing with me shoots if our game moves along. If I’m standing around I’ll never play with you again

Absolutely you are correct - it's absurd. My older one plays with a lot of adults and has had the privilege of playing with some well known athletes - like she can text them if they are in the same town and they will connect and play. She's much more at home doing these and she's fast - doesn't dwell on shots. She about combusted at a tournament in December - a girl was legit like Tim Cpnway being the old man on the Carol Burnett show and because of the she three pitted 4 times on the back - she couldn't take the 2 minute putt reading routine…
