Why I think Trump is in this until regime change

The Arab nations that are allied with us, letting us use their territory and vocally criticizing Iran would not be doing so unless they had iron-clad assurances from Trump that there would be regime change.
The last thing these guys want is to be staring across the Persian Gulf at a vengeful Iran. For 40 years these nations have tried to cozy up to Iran to avoid the terrorism that Iran foments. They would not abandon those positions unless they were certain that the regime was going to die.
Of course, Trump could betray them. But I’m about 80% sure that he will keep his foot on the gas until there is actual regime change. And if there is, it will occur by the end of May. By the end of April we will invade, and it will only take two or three weeks to have substantial control of the country and for the invasion to turn into a few dozen manhunts. At that point, public opinion will rebound. Enough? I don’t know, but it will come back.
Only Trump, and a few close advisors know for sure, but this is the opinion of a long-time tigerdroppings poster with a history of being right 50% of the time (or maybe 50% is an exaggeration).

My brother, you and a lot others need to wake up.
There will be no regime change. I can guarantee you the administration planned on it, but it was a gamble and they lost.
What’s unfortunate is the Chairman of the JCS will probably be the fall guy (I’m thinking sometime this Summer). He was actually the guy recommending against the war because the regime was always unlikely to fall.

Maybe you are right. I know that Trump won’t stay with that if it looks impossible. But I think it will happen.
We don’t have to root out all of the IRGC. All we have to do is land a few forces, grab control of the cities, let a pre-arranged “new regime” take control, then retreat to the nearby countryside ready to suppress any appearances of the IRGC in strength. The new regime, allied with the army, can handle the IRGC as long as they are not allowed to mass.
Then with close air support the army can hunt the IRGC to extinction and desertion. Based on Trump’s speech I think this has a better than 50% chance of being what happens. Before that I was worried he would quit.

Oh good lord.

Why are all you lefties awake at this time? (I’m in the UK)

Trump will fight Iran until the last American for Israel.

the Chairman of the JCS ... was actually the guy recommending against the war because the regime was always unlikely to fall.
Caine's job is to advise the POTUS in terms of possibilities/probabilities associated with an operation. That involves good and bad, likely and unlikely. Your sources at MSNOW get wind of Caine's worst case scenarios, and incorrectly paint those as Caine opposing the war.
Regardless, regime was not even prioritized in the run up.

Your statement was retarded. It doesn’t need a retort.

You think we're going to have full and total control of 90+ million radical Islamic hostiles in 10-20 days?
Then what? We hope for a natural revolution and they become a freedom loving republic?
Are we going to occupy the country? How many soldiers does that take and for how long? How much does that cost?
I'm really glad we're "middle eastern allies" first. We can spend billions blowing up people in a country on the other side of the world but it takes a fricking teenager with a cellphone to uncover fraud in our own backyard....

Two commas would change the meaning to what you meant.

No. Nor did I write that. I explained in my post that they would grab control of the major cities, let the prearranged new regime take control, and then back out to the countryside. I will add that they will grab control of the oil fields and Kharg Island. With the major cities and the revenue producing oil, the rest comes down to rat killing.

This pre installed regime- where is it going to come from?
quote:So now we're doing a military occupation of the country to install a democratic leadership? This will work just as good as it did in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The new regime, allied with the army, can handle the IRGC as long as they are not allowed to mass.
I don't know why you people can't understand that radical Islamic men are not going to allow western values into their countries.
Now we're talking about forcing it at the end of a gun but for how long? Our country goes bankrupt and our children go into debt to try to help Iran have a better future?
quote:Doesn't like 83% of Iranians support sharia law? So like 75 million people.....
Then with close air support the army can hunt the IRGC to extinction and desertion.

Madness. They believe they are fighting to save their civilization and their religion.
6 or 7 others (including the Romans several times) also tried and failed
This will be the greatest mistake in Trump's life. We DO NOT have the stomach to see hundreds (thousands?) of young special ops guys come back dead not to mention the oil / energy costs, risk of stagflation, innocent Iranians dead. It will also push millions more angry Muslims into Europe (yet again).
Its INSANE.

That's like saying - in order to control the folks in Mississippi and Alabama we'll just grab control of Oklahoma City, Chicago and Denver and that'll be good. What regime are you talking about bringing in to rule over 90+ million people? Where are these men coming from?
quote:Rat killing? How many innocent children in Iran will die in fire and do you believe that they'll be a democracy at the end?
With the major cities and the revenue producing oil, the rest comes down to rat killing.
Our country will go farther into debt, tens of thousands of human souls, not rats, will die in fire and in the end Islamist will still rule Iran but republicans will lose the midterms because affordability will get worse.
I hope you're right. I hope they have an actual successful regime change war in the Middle East this time....
