I know it has been said before, Landry deserves his credit.

Take a second and think where athletics would be if John Bel ""That means you can say farewell to college football next fall." Edwards was still Gov.

Even the liberals on the board know the answer. So, hate on him or get all in your political feeling but his willingness to blow things up with political theater in the beginning to get rid of Woodward and use political power to lean on people/corporations has led up to this point.

All of you who were melting about how he was "ruining" our chances at Lane, and "making us a laughingstock' have no idea how things work behind closed doors. Making sausage can get messy.

Call Landry a dufus all you want but he along with Verge and the "money men" got it done. Those donors wouldn't have stepped up if Landry wasn't there.

I'm not a fan of Landry, but he did this, and Verge didn't. Landry (like him or not) gets the credit. With that said, this is a slippery slope. Right now, he is making moves that we love. I hope he quits meddling while he's ahead.

This is fun and all, but we are kind of making a deal with the devil by encouraging the increasingly incestuous relationship between the governor’s office and the athletic department.

Not saying I’m not happy, but I’m not going to laud Landry.

Can’t upvote OP enough.

Straight facts whether you like it or not or want to admit it or not.

There has always been a political aspect of LSU and LSU athletics. Most of it since the days following Huey Long has been more subdued and behind closed doors but it has always been present and always will be.

Landy just took it public and thew a stick of dynamite in the room to ensure that Woodward and his "faction" had no chance and couldn't draw things out. Some politicians would have been reluctant to have it out so publicly and things could have been much different.

Even the way he handled the whole Woodward situation (publicly ridiculing him) rubbed me the wrong way.

Hopefully I’m just paranoid and Landry will slither back into the shadows (at least, as it pertains to LSU athletics)
