Verge is a yes man. He was told you want the AD job then listen, agree and don’t get in the way. Kiffin and Wade was the decision of Landry and his board. Woodward got in the way and was given the pink slip

Exactly.
You don't force the AD out because you don't like how he's handling things only to put his second in command in charge...unless you are assured the second in command will just be the figure head to do your bidding.
I'm not saying it's the right or wrong way to do things. But for those who are fans of Casino, this is Verge in the athletic department.....

The timing of board positions is the real reason the Landry is involved. If you think he personally decided Kiffin or Wade was the person for the job, you are mistaken.
