I just read an article about him recently about being a top 100 fitter in the country and one of the best as instructing using trackman. His insights and concept around the golf swing were pretty awesome.

Any one use him for either? I'm in BR but wonder if the drive over would be worth it at least for a fitting.

I’m curious what makes someone a better fitter than someone else other than access to technology and equipment?

Don’t they all pretty much get your swing data and input it into a formula that spits out the clubs that fit your swing the best?

what makes him different is he was doing it way back in the 90s when the tech wasn't what it is today, so he has roughly triple the experience of most fitters today. It also has to do with his concept of what a good golf swing actually contains vs what people think it contains.

That would be a bad fitter, or essentially what Club Champion does

James was huge into Trackman and the D-Plane stuff before anyone else had really started talking about it. Back when he was at Pinewood CC in Slidell

Athletic Motion Golf posted an interview with him yesterday. He seems to really know his stuff.

I play mostly Titleist equipment and always get fitted by a Titleist rep prior to buying any new clubs. Just bought some new irons and wedges and the fitter that worked with me this time was, IMO, light years better than other Titleist reps I had used before. Where I saw the difference was him not only talking about shafts, heads, etc., but he was also focused on weighting, lie angle, bounce, turf interaction, flight of the ball in the different combinations; you name it. He brought more variables into the fitting and just seemed to know how to take all of those different variables, my feedback on same, and the data on Trackman, and build the best club for me.

Definitely don't feel like I can blame the clubs any longer
