I just feel like we would have heard something by now.

If McMahon was coming back. They would’ve already put out the graphic with the note. Excited for McMahon to come back and pursue an NCAA tournament bid. The fact that there has been absolutely nothing from the LSU front makes me believe that he’s coming and it’s just a waiting game until the buyout drops.

Maybe he’s coming back and they feel no need to make an announcement.

The opposite logic would be true

If he wasn't we would have heard something

Disagree… LSU admin isn’t stupid. They know there is noise out there. They’re not just gonna leave their fans hanging and wondering either Wade’s gonna come out and say he’s returning to NC State or LSU is going to say McMahon is staying. I can 100% guarantee that.

The longer this goes on, the more LSU digs themselves in a hole. They have allowed several programs to get so far ahead it is unreal. Alabama is on their 5th Sweet 16 in the last 6 seasons (Oats has only been coach at Alabama for 7 seasons). Tennessee is on their 5th Sweet 16 since 2019. Texas just made the Sweet 16 with a first year head coach.

The only Sweet 16 in the last 20 seasons at LSU came from a guy named Will Wade. Just imagine where the program would be today if Woodward hadn't stabbed him in the back. LSU has the opportunity to right the wrongs with this situation and get things back on track. The Oats vs. Wade rivalry was about to get to some next level entertainment. I want to see that again. But both are friends now so I don't really know how things would be now.

LSU came out last year and endorsed McMahon for another season after there were concerns from the fanbase . Several schools with coaches on the hot seat have come out and said their respective coaches will be returning . Doesn’t take a genius to put together what could be going on right now . No clue on the timeline but it seems they are waiting on a certain date to make this news public and official

Yeah. A certain date (which maybe won’t be possible, but they’re trying) and also a certain someone officially employed by LSU.

A lot happening behind the scenes.

Dammit dude, Wade was caught dead to rights on a wiretap. Woodward was just supposed to ignore that? Woodward didn't stab anyone in the back. As much as I liked him, WW fricked up...and he will be the first to tell you that.

Why did all the other coaches who were caught also. They all kept their jobs.

I've been seeing April 1st mentioned in these threads. What is the significance of that date?

Will Wade’s current buyout at NC State is $5 million that LSU would owe to them if we hire Wade. That number drops to $3 million on April 1st.

Smart just to let it sit until the tournament plays out. That way Verge can continue pursuing candidates and the more teams that lose that opens up those coaches availability to interview etc. At this point no news is good news that the current coach is on his way out.

North Carolina has an opening now since they fired Hubert Davis yesterday. You think McMahon would leave for Chapel Hill if he's offered the job?
