I mean, this sort of thing happens from time to time. But with everything that's going on with the Strait of Hormuz, this one makes me perk up. Like I said, hopefully nothing nefarious or too major.

I've worked in refineries, chemical plants and power plants for the last 33 years.
In fact, I've worked at that plant numerous times.
Considering that these facilities run 24 hrs/day, 365 days a year... it's incredible that these accidents occur rarely.
That is a testament to the dedication to security and safety those running these facilities invest.
I highly doubt whatever happened at Valero had anything to do with terrorist.

I don't see anything suggesting that. If you have something suggesting that, by all means, share it. I'm just bringing the information. Sounds like a major blast. This will have further affect on gas prices.
