Multi-vehicle crash closes bridge after bucket truck goes over side

A chain-reaction crash on a bridge sent three people to the hospital with minor injuries and later led to a bucket truck going over the side of the bridge, police said.
Police said that around 6:17 a.m., a single vehicle hit the barrier in the eastbound lanes, triggering a crash involving at least four vehicles.
Three people from that initial crash were transported to the hospital with minor injuries, according to authorities.
While Lake Charles Police worked that scene, police said a bucket truck swerved to avoid debris in the roadway, crossed over into westbound traffic, and went over the side of the bridge.
Authorities said the bucket truck went over the edge near the foot of the bridge. Police said the driver was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced the right lane on I-10 Westbound over the Calcasieu River Bridge is closed until further notice for inspection and repairs due to a crash. DOTD will issue an update once the lane is open.

Yea I was thinking the same. That one hanging rail will be with the DOTD but there might be some in the water close to the bank that someone can magnet fish out

For some just crossing the bridge is enough to tighten the ye ole sphincter.
The bridge that would scare me the most is the Rainbow bridge in Port Arthur.
It has a vertical clearance of 177 feet. I think the new Mobile River bridge if ever built would have a taller clearance of 235 feet.
