I found a single mitten laying on a fence after a snowstorm

Made in a factory somewhere overseas it was put in a box along with many others and then removed again to be paired with a same but different mitten that became its partner. They became a team. And then they were split up somehow in a moment that I can never know about when one was lost. The partner was likely discarded and is now gone forever because of the separation while the lost mitten was first found by another passerby and placed on the fence with the hope of reunion.

I passed by this week and the snow is long gone but the mitten is still on the fence under the shade of a tree. Waiting.
