If you have the time take 299 or 36 East instead of all interstates. The Trinity mountains are beautiful. Don't let your gas get low in this stretch.
Cut through Chester and or Lake Almanor and get some Basque chorizo and other food in Susanville at a meat market. Tri tip and Lamb in the high desert; ranch country. This will let you drive across the mountains and see some great scenery as well. Seirra Valley by Loyalton is postcard worthy as are tons of other places on your drive. From there you can head South through Truckee and go around Tahoe. Most decent sized towns will have Breweries that make good beer.

Keep in mind the travel between Sacramento/Tahoe and Yosemite takes much longer than the norm. Watch out for road closures in that area due to snow pack even as late as June.

Bell’s - los alamos
Bell’s is a family-run, Michelin-starred French-inspired bistro located in the small town of Los Alamos, California. Founded in 2018 by Per Se alumni Daisy and Greg Ryan, the restaurant is celebrated for its "Franch" (French with a touch of ranch) style, blending classic French techniques with hyper-local ingredients sourced almost entirely from within a 20-mile radius

We ate at Nepenthe in Big Sur last summer. It has a cool Hawaiian vibe to it, everyone is pretty chill. Beautiful views over the ocean.
While we were there a guy in his 50's with a Hawaiian shirt and flip flops was sitting at the table next to us interviewing a girl for a waitress job. After she left he hung out with us and ordered himself and me another beer. We chatted for a while, then he said "I gotta get back to work"
We googled the place afterwards and come to find out he was the original owners son or grandson. He and his sister run the place now.
In Carmel we had breakfast at the Mission Ranch. It used to be owned by Clint Eastwood, it is a series of cottages just outside of town with ocean views and next to a pasture with sheep grazing. Great brunch, we sat inside by a fireplace and had a great time.
