Macbook air dilemma

Would you get:
MacBook Air m4 15” with 24gb ram and 512 ssd for $1299
Or
MacBook Air m5 15” with 16gb ram and 512 ssd for $1249
MacBook Air m4 15” with 24gb ram and 512 ssd for $1299
Or
MacBook Air m5 15” with 16gb ram and 512 ssd for $1249

Depends on usage and if you need the extra ram. That's probably what I would go with over a slightly faster chip.

I'd go more RAM. Nobody uses more than 20% of their available CPU outside of gaming. Browser tabs in most browsers will sleep themselves, so they "hold" memory, but don't use almost any CPU.

You can get a pro w m4 for 1399 with 16 and 512. Much better

I actually saw that Costco has the m5 pro for that price right now. That’s very tempting

also has fans, which the Air does not have. Better speakers and an SD card slot. I've had mine for six months and have really enjoyed it.
