As much my Grandfather and Great Uncles did in WWII. The never ending support during the cold war. British and French should go wherever US goes. Is Israel our last true ally?

Brittain was George Bush's favorite Ally.
THat tells me what I need to know.
However, for the British people? I feel bad for them. THey cannot seem to get out of this trouble they are in. Same with all of Western Europe.

Israel is a liability, not an ally.

Why would nato follow us into a war of choice?
How many countries has Trump said he was going to”take”? Why the f would anyone follow us off a cliff? These are independent countries not lemmings.

Exactly. NATO is not America's military. It is a defensive alliance that is wildly successful in ensuring that each member is defended by all other members if attacked.

NATO is designed to end America. It will use America until it feels America is no longer needed. NATO would only support America in an effort once it is a known the effort will succeed spectacularly.
As POTUS Trump mentioned yesterday, "We do not need NATO."

while a founding member of NATO in 49, france withdrew in 66 and didn't rejoin until 2009. france during the 60's and 70's saw it's self as a counter weight to american hegemony. with a robust aerospace industry, they sold exocet missiles to anyone who'd buy them. the were instrumental in installing Ayatollah Khomeini and disposing the shah.
