March Madness is one of my favorite sporting events of the year. That said, are there any changes to Men's college basketball that you would like to see?

Mens college ball is the only traditional pure sport still playing two halves as Naismith designed it versus 4 quarters. Would you like to see 4 quarters?

Also would you like to see the men's follow the women's side in that first round games are played on higher seeds home court?

Should the one and done rule be expanded similar to college baseball, if you choose college, then you have to stay for 3 years? I would think in NIL world that high level college basketball is better than the G league.

Others?

They should change it so you can go straight to nba after high school but if you go to college you have to stay for 3 years. But that might be more up to the nba.

They need to change the transfer rules, but I guess that would have to be the NCAA governing body for all sports? You should still have to sit out if you transfer, you shouldn’t be able to transfer 3 times, and not to a rival either.

Everything else you said, no. I like the 2 halves personally.

This is kind of gimmicky but what if they gave players who hadn’t yet fouled out an extra foul if the game goes to OT?

I would either get rid of the playin games or expand the tournament to 96 teams and make first games playin games. Also, any team that wins their conference does not have to play in a playin game or we just take regular season conference champs and get rid of conference tournaments all together, though those are probably money makers for the conferences.

Naismith designed it with two 15-minute halves.

Yes.

I think that would be pretty cool, TBH.

I don't know. Are there still a lot of one-and-dones?

It already entices folks to stay in college basketball, which is why I don't think I have an issue with the one-and-dones.

Teams that win their conference tournament should not be regulated to the play-in games. The Tuesday/Wednesday games should be all bubble teams

They need to stop all the reviews. They initiated a challenge system this year where each team has at most 2 challenges per game, but the refs can decide to review things themselves and it slows the game way down.
I love the 2 halves and neutral court for the opening rounds. I wouldn’t be opposed to expanding another few games on Tuesday and Wednesday for bubble teams.

Match the 3-point line with the NBA.

With how compact the court is right now a lot of games become a slog in the paint and it's just not entertaining to watch.

It would be best but that’s for the NBA to decide. College hoops is actually getting better, there are now multiple models that can win and subjectively I prefer more of the bigger programs in the tourney. Bigger fan bases, more national interest, which is now happening with players funneling upwards. Just look at the East bracket, that’s heaven for a hoop head.

They need to do something about "neutral" sites. Like when #1 Houston had to play #4 Purdue in Indianapolis last year.

Or maybe I'm just salty that if we make it to the Elite 8 we might be playing Houston in Houston even though we're the 1 seed.

Makes too much sense. I mean teams are granted extra timeouts. There should be an extra foul allowance for each OT.

Keep the halves. If you add quarters then TV will just make games longer by making the in between quarters ad filled for money

As for the home court it sounds nice. But at the same time you get cities able to sponsor 8 teams at once and it really juices things up having all the fans in one area. Lots of trash talk and friends made and it give traveling fans some great venues and dining/bar experiences.

Nothing against college atmosphere but the kids are on spring break and campuses are mostly empty. So I’m torn on that one. OKC has a mens first 2 rounds and its played at the NBA court and will attract a lot of extra NBA fans plus college and parents. Easily accommodated. Plenty of great hotels. Right in the middle of entertainment district. Its a great atmosphere for teams and parents and fans.

Whats ironic is OKC has 8 mens teams for 4 days. And on Fri night our OU women play in Norman. And Idaho had both mens and womens teams make playoffs. And both Idaho teams are in the metro for games same time men in OKC and women in Norman.

Yeah you could have "regionals" like baseball but with 8 instead of 4.

Durham regional (Duke)
Duke/Sienna Fri
Ohio St/TCU Fri
St Johns/UNI Thu
Kansas/Cal Baptist Thu

As opposed to making every four minutes an ad break for money. Quarters has less ad breaks per half.

The stupid “player control” fouls. The hook and holds. Not advancing the ball.

Go back to unique floor designs for the tournament host sites.

This isn’t that unusual, but I don’t like it when it’s not the result of some crazy upset. I guess when you secure sites a couple years in advance, this stuff can happen.

I watched the clip of vcu beating duke in 2007 earlier. Gosh that buffalo court was a beautiful disaster. A white key hole with a bare lane and the rest shaded sky blue. Inject it.

The old Cleveland state floor design is another classic.
