There should be a Schiano to Tennessee like revolt but not enough fans care because the administration obviously doesn’t care.

Forget The Rant. Look at LSU basketball social media (90% of the posts want McMahon gone). Look at the crowds (or lack thereof). Look at the students. They aren't even sticking around after picking up their free sweatshirt. Look at college basketball media in general. LSU is total afterthought. That is the case even with the local media. No one covers LSU basketball with any zeal.

What will happen if the admin does choose to bring back McMahon is that the program will just fall deeper into the apathetic abyss. No one will care about transfer news because, why should they? It doesn't matter. McMahon will schedule some awful non-conference schedule against which he will win 10-11 games...and no one will care. The crowds will 4,000 - 5,000 in actual attendance (if that). He'll enter SEC play and quickly get pantsed again and LSU will be out of any NCAA Tournament consideration by the end of January. Nonetheless, you'll have the same group of excuse-makers finding ANY reason to exonerate McMahon for the losses.

And at this time next season we will be having the SAME discussion. Nothing will have changed except another wave of potential coaches will have come and gone.

I think I am probably a bigger fan of LSU basketball than most, and my level of care about the program under McMahon is at a lifelong low. I don't know who the HS signees are...and I don't care because chances are the majority won't play any meaningful minutes anyway, if at all. I don't care what transfers he would bring in....because it doesn't matter. He may win 2, 3, 4 more SEC games. But ultimately, another uneventful selection Sunday will come and go without any remote mention of LSU

It was shocking that he wasn't fired after last season. It will be criminal if we keep him after this one.

Well if they were going to keep him
Then why not just say “ we’re going to keep him” ??

Because they are going to make a run at Wade once his season ends. They won't announce anything until they have exhausted that opportunity. I've said for over a week now, the athletic department (and donors) are all-in on Wade this year.

Texas – $22,403,330
Arkansas – $21,254,027
Kentucky – $20,787,671
Auburn – $20,535,097
Ole Miss – $18,228,378
Alabama – $15,230,392
Missouri – $14,354,000
Texas A&M – $14,318,327
Oklahoma – $13,662,135
Mississippi State – $12,220,602
LSU – $11,104,405
South Carolina – $11,074,153
Georgia – $10,400,030
Note: Florida and Vanderbilt were excluded from the list.

LSU is falling exactly where they are funding the program in the SEC.
Fla and Vandy are private therefore info not available.
How much more $ do you want to spend for a successful team? at the expense of other sports like baseball
Any new coach you hire worth anything is not coming with no assurances that LSU will compete from a $ standpoint

A big reason LSU is at 11 million is Mcloser has for 4 years refused to meet with donors and business groups. He flat out told Fat Scott that fund raising was not part of his job. Unlike successful coaches.
