People here don’t want to admit it but the admin does not care about men’s basketball. This is a perfect scenario for the brass. They can try for Wade and then when he doesn’t come they can tell the fans “we tried” and still avoid the issue that they completely failed in drumming up the necessary money to buy out this failure. It’s insulting but they know the fans on the whole either don’t care or won’t put the pieces together.

Wade is at a place where basketball is the focus and took him when he still wasn’t fully cleared of pariah status. His wife is from North Carolina as well. I know people here think Louisiana is the center of the universe but listen to yourselves. There are some pretty big headwinds to navigate here. I’m looking forward to maybe disconnecting for a bit. The admin has made it very clear that they don’t prioritize LSU basketball so in turn, I won’t really give it much attention until changes are made (if that ever comes).

I see what you’re saying but what if Wade goes on a run at NC State next year? Then LSU will have no shot to get him. All the while the LSU program will sink further and further into irrelevance.

My point is that a change should have already been made. Holding the program hostage on the hope that a previously fired employee will be willing to come back is a huge gamble.

I agree with you, if Wade does what he normally does in year 2 it will be very hard and more expensive to get him.

I want Wade back here but us putting our eggs in as if we can’t have him we will just wait a year is really bad.

I could see pulling that strategy if McLoser had ever done anything here.

Absolutely.

Then if the athletic department claims there’s no money, that’s a failure on them. It’s not like McMahon has just lost his fastball. Any incoming AD should have known that MBB is an issue that would most likely need to addressed.

The shortsightedness of Louisiana politics frustrates the hell out of me.
