Protecting new plants from wind and cold

What you got?
Always appreciate input.
I've been using unused plastic pots upside down to keep from freezing. This wind will blow them away. Putting something heavy on top might work but still suspect to damage if they blow over.

I always use extra sterlite type storage containers, and they can cover multiple plants at once.
I’ll also pop a stake or several and drape a tarp over an entire section. The 3ft stakes keep the tarp from smothering the plants.

I dug up my newly planted peppers this morning because stupid me didn’t look at the weather forecast yesterday.
Squash- I’ll place a planting pot upside down and put a small wash rag over the holes on top of the pot with a brick weighing it down on top.
I’m hoping for the best with my dragon tongue beans. I have too many to protect there.

I’m going with black plastic pots I just spent an hour duct taping up drain holes LOL. Fingers crossed. I’m not going to cover until tomorrow morning

I’m looking at it now and the lows are below 50 until Friday. Yikes. Looks like my squash will be covered up for quite a while.

I"m laying my cages on their sides along plant rows to form canopy for tarps.

36 and snowing here in the Ozarks, will be about 19 in the morning.
Covered my peas and cool season flowers, spent about an hour pulling tarps and storage containers.
We will see how hardy my peas are.

1, 2, and 5 gallon buckets...........with wire stakes bent in a u-shape to hold down. Only have 10 plants so far in 25 gallon livestock totes, only worrying about keeping the frost off of them. Planted my okra and pole beans two weeks ago and both already out of ground. If I lose them it's no worries, just replant and they'll be back up in two weeks.

I got lucky and only planted tomatoes and watermelons. Zucchini and bush beans were next. I had just put fresh mulch down but still covered the beds with a tarp just in case
