1st off Jay has plenty of grace and good will from me for winner 2 championships… that being said..

Transfers from lower schools just aren’t that good. It’s a good idea and experiment but building a roster entirely from lower tier schools just doesn’t cut it. There is a reason they were there.

We’re at our best when we have organic blue chipper talent leading the roster. This isn’t to say we shouldn’t take a shot at some of these guy.. they should be sprinkled in as situational players or “the crafty lefty”

It’s still early though

Why does being a season ticket holder matter?

Sure, but those guys don't always work out.

Case in point, our catcher situation. Schmidt has struggled; heck, even Curiel looks lost at times. That's top level high school talent.

Not to mention the guys like Larson who would have typically developed within the program but are now transferring out to seek playing time.

I get what you’re saying but I really don’t think we have as many “small school” transfers as you think. Yorke and DarDar if you want to count him are the only ones regularly right? Simpson as well, but very rarely are DarDar and Simpson both playing at the same time. Caraway can’t count being from Oregon ST

We should hire a season ticket holder such as yourself to be our GM. You check the most crucial box regarding player evaluation.

How are you not on the LSU payroll?

We won titles with those guys. It’s hard to gel every year with 10 new guys every year. Imagine you’re a 2nd year guy who’s bought in and going into your junior season they go get a guy from Oregon state who had an ok year and is getting paid over 100k. Imagine sure it’s caused some tension within the team.

Paul skenes-small school
Anthony eyanson-small school
Daniel dickinson smaller school
Luis hernandez-smaller school

These werent role players, they were keys to winning, most just last season

Also a season ticket holder

Meanwhile Mikey Ryan has been hitting bombs at NC State. JJ let him walk in favor of these smaller school players as you say

Jay Johnson gets tons of grace and he’s obviously got what it takes.

But putting together a team this bad is concerning. Either through building the team or preparing them for the season, something is very off. I would expect a little more consistency year to year if he’s really the coach we think he is.

Skenes, Eyanson, Tanks, Dickinson weren't home grown

Hell I would definitely take Luis back behind the plate

You need transfer STUDS
