My son and i still ride our neighborhood with regular peddling bicycles but it is rare to see any kids riding them other then motorized versions. Its bad enough all the little fat kids never get out to play anymore but when i drive around now what seemed like the only physical activity left for kids to go from point A to point B is now not even a thing anymore.

You watch videos of people in the 70's, 80's and early 90's walking around cities , parks, malls etc.. and you would see maybe two or three folks overweight . Now you struggle to find the non overweight folks.I get it if your old and overweight but whole new generations of kids getting no exercise at all. Better hope those fat loss drugs are legit because without them the next generations are looking at a whole new wave of Diabetic fatties. Fat rant over.

Because 10 yr olds have iPhones now and can just pop their fat arse on an electric scooter.

I ride (manual) on the Trace regularly and 60% of the people I see under 30 are on electric bikes.

Ugh

And someone is going to get hurt because they go so fast.

All of my grandkids who are old enough ride bikes. And there is a kid on my street who rides seemingly every day. But I agree with you that it is greatly diminished.

There are plenty of kids in my neighborhood that ride normal bikes. They're still fat. I'm under 40 and I ride my bike a lot.

I used to ride it to the bar in town on Friday afternoons. My wife would pick me and the bike up when she got off of work.
