Elon Musk is about to rug pull SpaceX investors over his xAI failures isn't he?

- Elon Musk's March 13, 2026, posts admitted xAI's initial build was flawed, requiring a full rebuild similar to Tesla's early days, and apologized for rejecting talented candidates, prompting @hamids to critique the inconsistency with prior claims of xAI's unmatched superiority and $200B valuation.

- The post questions the February 2026 SpaceX acquisition of xAI—valued at $1.25T combined ahead of SpaceX's IPO—as potentially shielding investors from these admissions, with Tesla also converting its $2B xAI stake into SpaceX equity.

- Thread replies debate recruitment challenges, including claims that Musk's political affiliations reduced the talent pool by up to 10x, while supporters view the disclosures as transparent leadership amid a reported co-founder exodus.

Well the second he started talking about putting servers into space because it's cold should have been a massive red flag. I'm sure his engineering team couldn't believe he said it, let alone as the justification as strapping the xAI debt onto space X

Every AI company is struggling to generate revenue fast enough to offset the massive spending. But grok seems to be only used by his companies or by Twitter. That sounds like miniscule revenue

Doesn’t Musk say a lot of shite that doesn’t or won’t pan out? Driverless cars all over the country…cybertruck is indestructible…AI will solve poverty and crime…etc. etc.

Yes, take the good with the bad.

He love to spin up a "surge" as its referred to within his teams in order to push them to move quicker and stretch the boundaries.

He makes an outlandish claim and the teams try to scramble and make it happen, failing a good number of times.

Yep. But it yielded Starlink which I don't think he gets enough credit for.

The problem with doing some thing well is you start to think you can do all things well.

what happens when he rebuilds xAI and its better than any other because he had the nuts to scrap it and start over with the knowledge they all learned since building? Do you think the others had the same thoughts but would never admit and rebuild? Where is xAI in three years?
