Diversity at the Houston Rodeo

I’ve been twice this season. (Last night was Chris Stapleton) and I am not the only one that has noticed a HUGE amount of black population attending the carnival. It was so packed it was hard to walk around the grounds of NRG. And a very ratchet crowd at that. Someone was twerking ontop of a John Deer. Asses hanging out. Crappy pink hats and trashy clothes. What happened?? I’ve been going for 30 years. I’ve noticed the past 2-3 that there is a significant change in the demographic.
Is it the Beyoncé effect? Is there a direct outreach by HLRS?

There is nothing cheap about it. Even after the $25/per entrance fee.. turkey legs $27. Beer $15.

Oh great. This is exactly what I needed to hear before I head out for next weekend's Houston Rodeo

Well, NRG is located right in the middle of the Houston ghetto. Furthermore, the rodeo has been pushing the DEI narrative for years now. It is part of the reason it sucks now.
That and insane prices for bad food.

And the $30 per car they pay to park across the freeway, showing up late already lit.
And this started happening a few years ago and grew.

It’s because word got out that it was a nice clean safe well organized event that is a good time. Plenty to eat and drink things to do and good music.

I think its because the concert tickets are pretty cheap to get during the week.
If you can get in for under a hundred bucks thats a steal compared to sports/concert tickets nationwide.
People wanna go out and do shite, even if it isnt exactly their favorite band.
Also dont think a culture exists that doesnt like watching people try to ride a bull.
