Someone Dare Governor Landry to Hire Will Wade

I’m sure he’d be down if he thought it could get some headlines.

Seriously, do you really not know the back story here. The main reason Woodward is gone is because the governor wanted Wade hired last year and Scott told him, no.

LEE Mallet from Lake Charles huge Landru donor and now BOS President wanted Wade back. WOodward refused That was strike 1 then the BK disaster was strike 2. Now it is all aligned politically with Mallet and Rousse for WW to return

Yeah I get it, it’s also why I’m wondering why nothing has happened.

Timing. As long as McMahon is still here, Wade has a little cover to finish the season and get to April 1 when his buyout is reduced by $2MM.
Just like there was no announcement on Kiffin until the season was over.
This administration is using the same playbook. If you have a commitment from Wade, what does it hurt dragging your feet on firing McMahon?
Or I could be dead wrong and this could be a disaster.

If this was like Kiffin, then Wade would already be here & skip the “playoffs”
The 2 situations are not similar at all

This is where your simple mind can’t grasp nuance. In the Kiffin situation, we had to let the regular season play out. During that process, there were no significant leaks, and no alternative coaching candidates seriously discussed. The athletic department kept its head down and did exactly what it needed to do, get a commitment from him and then let everything play out
In this case, there is no need to grab him before the NCAA tournament. In fact, there is a significant incentive to wait until April 1. So yes, just like in that case, the athletic department has kept things very closely under wraps. And not made any public moves until it was necessary.

The guberna needs one more big hire to seal his second term

Yep. It always amazes me at how simple thinking a lot of these posters on the rant are.
They have no clue how people in these high positions operate or make decisions.
One of my favorite lines is: "you don't go crawlin back to the girl who dumped ya". That's the mindset of a disgruntled cook at Olive Garden, not major college coaching hires.
I'm not the smartest guy, I professionally haven't done anything remarkable, although I'm good at the job I do have. But I can usually put 2 and 2 together, and I've come up with pretty much your scenario also as far as the Wade situation goes.
A lot of these dudes are clueless, but some are throwing out contrarian bullshite and praying they're right because they hate Wade and LSU basketball.
