McNeese with the Locked-In Tournament Spot --> Just Kills Me

I'm happy for McNeese...going to the big dance for the third consecutive year.
But damn, they are still living off of interest from tGeneral. And we are still watching this flaming pile of crap burn. And burn. And burn.
Hopefully they make a run, so we at least have something to cheer for.

while I dont disagree, you do realize they HAVE to win their tournament or they dont make the dance?

I get that. But I'm talking more about the trajectory of the two programs. Hard to miss the delta between where McNeese was 3 years ago and now vs LSU.

well unlike LSU, McNeese asked Wade who was the best fit to continue his success, just so happens to be his former assistant.

as I said, you just have to win the tourney. Not some crazy hisorical, or even good run. 1 team will make it every single year from the conference. Every single year.

And mcneese has a deal where they play the conference tourney on their home court every year so they have a better shot than most

Yeah, I mean it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that they've been one of the Top 2 teams in the conference the last 3 years...
They had a hot run in 2023, but were below .500 at home in conference play going into the tournament.
But also, that deal is a direct result of the rest of the pansy asses in the Southland being scared that the conference would fold if we left, even though the only sport we had been decent at in years was baseball...

You realize Lsu can get in without winning their tournament?
And Mcneese will probably lose their opening round game.

Better to get to the tournament and lose than to not get there at all. Remember, McNeese won its opening round game last year again Clemson and don't count them out in the first round this year either.

On a side note, not that many care, including me, but I read that the women lost big in the title game....to a team they beat by 27 points just a few weeks ago. I read that they missed multiple layups and the Coach said layups have been a problem for them all year. I am not making this up.

nobody believes this for even a second. Nobody, I mean nobody, was ever worried about Mcneese leaving any conference. Mcneese was not even decent in baseball in years. TF kinda statement is that. They are unanimously thought of as one of, if not the worst, programs in the Southland for many reasons. Cow patty smell is one of them

And that came 7 days after an article that said McNeese and UIW were leaving for the WAC.

They were the overwhelming betting favorites to win the tourney, they smoked the second best team (who Mcneese actually lost to once in the regular season)
