It all looks good, but what were your thoughts? I have to admit, I've never been a Bayless fan, but from those pics, I'd give it a try.

Some good looking dishes.

I've only been to his Frontera Grill, and it was very good. Some might dismiss it as just Mexican food, but even when eating a dish you've had 100 times you notice that with his version every aspect of it is of highest quality and done to perfection.

I've only been to a couple of his more casual restaurants and really enjoyed them. How was this experience?

Outstanding. I love doing tasting menus and this was up there. I probably would pass on the alcohol pairing next time though. They were good but I don’t think to the level of what they charge.

I was also inspired by newyorkturk and find a spot in Chicago.

My wife and I went to Tru which was a tasting menu restaurant in Chicago about 10 years ago. We decided against the wine pairing because it added about $300 in cost. The small plates were good but very small. We got the bill after sitting there for about 3 hours. Without a tip the total was a little over $700. That was 10 years ago. It was good but not worth the cost.
