To an extent. Yes.
But these guys are way underperforming based on what they were last year. Even guys who weren’t transfers like Milam. It’s kind of puzzling.

Dickinson is the only position player in the portal over the last 3 years that’s lived up to the hype offensively. Whole lot of guys that hit at lower levels and come to LSU to be just a waste of space.

It was too much to replace, you can make a good team great in the portal but having to find multiple starters throughout the lineup and ready to contribute now arms, really is almost impossible. We were in Omaha winning a championship while the rest of the country was rebuilding and signing guys.

Yeah, I guess you could say this is the first class that has been total crap. There's been at least one good player on the others.

There are three types of players in the portal (for all sports)
1) Those who aren’t good enough to get enough playing time at their current program
2) Those who did well against lower quality competition and are looking to step up in class
3) Those who have one-off situations (want to move closer to home, coach left, etc) - thus is by far the smallest group of the 3.
It’s extremely rare for someone from the first group to succeed (Joe burrow an obvious exception) and the second group is a complete crapshoot as you don’t know how they will do against higher competition until they are there. Remember there’s a reason they went to a smaller school in the first place. Maybe they are a late bloomer. Probably not.

Do you dumb mother frickers not understand last 3 portal classes?
I missed Stanfield. Hernandez certainly didn’t live up to the hype offensively (was a pleasant surprise defensively). He hit .270 with single digit HRs. The rest are 4+ classes ago
