Here is why I want Wade back at LSU Basketball.

Because he has a proven record if the school want give him the money. He will write a personal check to get the player.
I know its still not allowed that way. But I am sure he can figure out how to funnel the money to the player.

He lost last night by the way. Finished the season 19-12 at a basketball school. Doesn't bode well for him here in the new era where paying players is wide open.

I don't think any coach is setup for success at LSU basketball unless they can get guaranteed commitment to dump money into it for the players. No boosters are willing to pony up towards this so LSU will always bee a doormat here until it changes.
I think Wade would get much more support than you would expect. It's a sleeping giant waiting to be awakened like football was. I think Wade would get booster support and he'd win enough to satisfy the base.

Pearl cheated - they hired his son at Auburn
Cal cheated- they hired him at UK & Arkansas

It’s not my job to hire coaches. But if it was, there would certainly be a process to hire the best one that I could find for the school, especially given the business decisions that will have to be made to accommodate the opening. I’m not saying disqualify Wade, but the process as being discussed is second rate.

For our position, we need to figure out what talent pool, level or type is accessible for us on a yearly basis. Find a coach that pairs with that level or type and build a culture for the program so when the next guy comes you can sustain the program.

This of course ignores the fact that he’s under the age of 44, has taken four teams to the NCAA tournament and has won a power four conference championship. And has a top five winning percentage of active NCAA coaches. Again, find me somebody else with that résumé that LSU has a realistic chance of landing.
