Panel on college sports

I highly recommend all LSU fans watch this presidential panel on college sports (NIL/Transfer portal/etc). To make it LSU-related and rant-appropriate, LSU is mentioned more than any other single university during this conversation, which is kind of cool.

Politics is harmed much more by the influence of money than athletics is. Politicians should clean up their own mess before taking on college athletics.

Wouldn't waste your time. I watched the whole thing - an incredibly unproductive gathering of very qualified individuals that could have a had a very productive discussion but were not given any opportunity to weigh in. Someone should have briefed President Trump that the status of college sports and the many challenges are not the result of “one radical left judge from California.” Or at least advise the President before this meeting that there was an appeal all the way up to the Supreme Court, who ruled 9-0 that the NCAA’s business model was flatly illegal under antitrust law. What a waste of an opportunity.

Trump said that within a week he would sign a executive order that would fix college athletics and he knows he will be immediately sued. He obviously knows he won't fix things with this one act, so what is the angle in your opinion?

Here is my theory. I think he is doing this as a attempt to give everyone a quick kick in the arse to get serious about fixing this mess. Everyone says something has to be done but no one is doing.

He didn't coach in the NIL/portal era, and that's pretty much what the whole thing's about, so not really.
