Looking at staying at Sebastian’s on the Beach
$2,678 for 8 nights.
What say you?
ETA: Looking at St Lucia now. Anse de Chastanet.

The BVIs are a truly wonderful place but best seen by boat. Staying in one island and at one resort is kind of missing th e point. But still better than a week at work.

So what would you recommend?
I want to be able to smoke a Cuban cigar anytime I please. Fiancée loves the beach. I do, too. And this is the same priced hotel as Destin.

Charter a sailboat or catamaran with a captain and mate. And you will do all of that and more.
But even if you did go to the resort, BVIs are awesome. You’ll love it.

Where would you recommend staying I mean?

You stay on the boat.
Every morning wake up in your cabin, go on deck, jump in the Sir Francis Drake channel, decide which island to sail to, have breakfast, sail, grab a mooring ball, hit the beach bar, and do it all over the next day.

You are telling him to take a completely different trip that in no way is a comparable price point to what his OP is.
Sorry, OP, I haven’t stayed on Tortola, only checked in at customs. Hopefully some of the BVI experts chime in. We’ve done lot of St. John trips where you rent a house versus a hotel and then do a day trip to BVIs. We typically go to Jost not Tortola.

Slight hijac of Arthur’s thread but maybe he’ll be interested in this question / answer too.
Will be using points to stay at Westin St John in April. We’ve been 3 times and done the group charter to Jost and other stops (ex. Baths). This time, we want to do a private day charter.
Anyone recommend a private day charter that’s not > $2K for the day? It’s just 2 of us.

Not disagreeing with your premise as it is a completely different trip, but i think it is a much better trip even if more expensive.
Lived in Tortola for a summer, have been back many times. There are amazing resorts (Bitter End, Scrub Island, etc.) and not saying those wouldn’t be a good trip but just a suggestion to move around a bit.

I definitely don’t want to stay on a boat and I doubt my fiancée does either. Neither of us drink.
We’re looking at Anse Chastanet in St Lucia now. $7500 total for room only. That’s the top spot so far. We want to be ON the beach.
