If LSU does not fire Kelly, what’s the final record in 2025?

Knowing BK, he would have found a way to save face and get the record to look better than it actually was.

Just look at his track record. We all know how his tenure went. He’d always do just enough to say “well he’s winning 9 to 10 games per season” but when you break it down they aren’t really winning vs quality teams.

Honestly they were 5-3 when he was fired. Went on to lose to bama and OU and the bowl. Would it really be far fetched to say Kelly could have won 2 of those 3 games? Finishing at 9-4 once again. Kelly would have found a way to beat that awful Oklahoma team. Hell they almost did it with Frank. Who knows what bowl game they draw at that point. Kelly always won his bowl
Games.

That continues the narrative that Kelly isn’t the problem. Honestly canning him in October and letting the season just play out with Frank was the best decision. Can’t help but think they knew Lane was coming or else they wouldn’t have done it when they did.

Glad we got our guy but honestly he’s one of the few that it’s justified in doing this all for. I wouldn’t have fired Kelly just for any guy. It had to be Lane.

We win the meaningless bowl game, that’s the only difference

Would’ve finished with the same record we did.

If Nuss isn't injured, we win a couple more games last season. Nuss being injured helped get BK fired and he should have been for his handling of the situation.

So you’re saying BK forced Nuss to play knowing he was injured? I don’t think so. Knowing Nuss, he made that call and wanted to fight through it.

BK wasn’t perfect but I’m sure Nuss is who made that call.

After watching MVB, hurt Nuss was still the better choice if he wanted to play… that’s just the sad truth.

Don't care what he would have done. The timing was critical on hiring lane. If we had let him finished the season, slim chance in getting lane and losing some recruits.

I think if Bk knew he was that hurt (he did), it was on him to make the right decision. If MVB starts the whole season, LSU loses at least 8 games.

Nussmier beats either Bama or Oklahoma for sure. Maybe both. Even if he’s “hurt”.

He definitely beats Houston

That OU team wasnt awful. They were made to look awful by a very motivated defense that played their arse off. This is the same unit that gave up a million in Kelly's last half as a football coach.

Say what you want about Frank, but his idiot arse at least got an underprepared poorly coached team to at least show some life.

The better question should be what would our record be if Wilson, or any assistant on the staff for that matter, would've been the head coach for the entire season. Im guessing we aren't 5-3 and dead in the water going into Bama.

Frank was overly cautious in the loss to Oklahoma. He played not to lose and of course we lost.
