Tigers 2-22 with runners in scoring position over the last 3 games.

I’m a wee bit concerned.

If this didn’t happen literally every single year at some point then I’d be worried too, but the 23 and 25 teams did this same thing and they turned out fine.

Hitting is streaky. Jay has been great at having them ready for the postseason.

Hard to get up for these games. When competition gets better the motivation will be there. Plus everyone is telling them how great they are and that they should repeat. Good to get humbled a bit early in season

Actually, 2023 never had this kind of hitting slump.

Hitting with runners in scoring position is not an actual skill. You can either hit or you can’t hit.
We have this stupid thread every season multiple times.
ETA: anyone that thinks otherwise is a moron.

22 ABs with RISP in ~20 innings games? Not too bad!

We could loose every series 2-1 and still be a 2 seed in the tournament. Don’t worry.

Stats like that make me feel great, actually.
We will obviously course correct. We have excelled in RISP hitting under Jay.
If we were 2-6 with RISP, that'd be an issue.
Curiel/Yorke/Dardar/Milam/Arrambide have all had shitty weekends. That won't happen very often.
Also - I know there have been some misplays, but the opposing teams have made some incredible plays in the outfield this weekend. For sure have been robbed of 6-7 runs and bigger innings, while only given about 2.

Exactly. There have been countless studies that show hitting with RISP is essentially perfectly correlated with simply hitting. Good teams over the course of a season will get a lot of people on base and leave a lot of people on base. There will be streaks like this as a result.

As you and all Tiger baseball fans should be

All I cares about is W’s. The hitting will come. This team is too talented

We get a ton of guys on base. Some weekends that means we're going to leave a ton of guys on base.
