Using its Own Pizza Box as the Plate for a Frozen Pizza

Trashy or the height of efficiency?

You should heat it up first

Not a pizza (or food in general) snob but it has been quite a while since I’ve had a frozen pizza.
You can’t microwave a frozen pizza so you’ve got to put it on a pan to heat it?
Serve it on that pan. They’re only used for pizza so who cares if you make marks on the pan cutting the pizza?

I flip the box inside out and use it to get the pizza out of the oven.

I do it if it doesn't have the cardboard round. Otherwise I just use the round. Why dirty a cutting board/sheet pan?

If your pan has any nonstick coating on it, you're gonna compromise that and potentially leech carcinogens.
Most frozen pizzas cook directly on the rack now, also.

It depends.
If it has the round cardboard piece under it the. I use that to put the pizza on and cut it. If it’s one that doesn’t have that and is only wrapped in cellophane and then in the box I won’t open up the box and use the inside.
But I’ll always use a plate to eat off of once it’s cut.

Im so efficient that pizza box is already out in the big trash can before pizza comes out of the oven.

Huh?

Been doing this since college for the efficiency and the fact that I won’t have to do the dishes

That’s exactly what I do. I tear it open and use the inside of the box to put the pizza on

If you’re going to crush the whole pizza in one sitting then it’s the most efficient and practical way to go about it. Idk about cooking it in the oven with the cardboard tho. Usually just set the frozen pizza on the oven rack with a pan underneath o catch the grease.

Have you ever eaten different kinds of frozen pizza? Some come with a round cardboard piece under the pizza and then it’s wrapped in cellophane and sometimes put inside a box Others don’t have the round cardboard piece and are instead just wrapped in cellophane and put inside a box.
A lot come with this:
One of the most famous frozen pizzas does not and is only wrapped in cellophane.
I will use the top round cardboard to cut on. I will not open a box to use that if it doesn’t have the round cardboard.

What is this sorcery you speak of?

Common sense.... But remember that there is a warning label that says - "Do Not Eat The Box."

Things like this is why i get the 1000 sturdy paper plates from Amazon.
Don’t have to wash it. Toss it after I’m done eating

Pre kids is just use the box. But now with small children I’m already using a cutting board for fruits and veggies so I use that for the pizza too
