I've played acoustic for decades, and never thought I would switch.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I've had a TD25kV for 10 years and love it. Play with over ear Head Phones most of the time.

Looking to switch to a TD27kV soon. The digital ride, snare, and hats are a game changer.

Simmons Titan 75 Electronic Drum Kit

I just upgraded to this one from an Alesis for my son and I. It didn't break the bank and like it a lot. Wife won't let me spend that Roland money, but I would get that TD27kV if I could.

You will not regret it.

Yes. I had a cheapie Yamaha DTX electronic kit. Did not handle hi-hat rolls or barks well.

Yeah I was going to buy just the module, snare, ride, and hats for $2500, but decided to get the whole kit and make a big kit by adding to my TD25.

I have never liked the way they sound live, but there is nothing more perfect for practicing in your home. Plus, they’re great for tracking midi drums that you’re replacing with samples for quick demos. The serve a niche for sure.

Use real high hats and cymbals.

Why would you use an Electric Kit to be quieter and use real cymbals?

We used an electric kit a couple of years ago on a live date. We recorded the show for promotional purposes and while the drum sounds were fantastic, the high hat and cymbals made it sound like a drum machine.

There was no nuance to the high hat work.
