Please just be a story about monsters with humans in it and not a story about humans with monsters in it.

I don’t think that’s too much to ask from a monster movie

I enjoy the Godzilla/Kong movies for the shlock that they are. Is this show worth watching?

Feels like it was on a decade ago. I got bored with it.

I’m ready to be disappointed. I’ll always give Kaiju a chance.

I actually liked Season 1

And just like last season, the Randa kids just waltz merrily through every obstacle, escape every danger, avoid every monster…. Just as the story requires.

And Cate is ever insufferable.

* And the writing is awful. Never mind that Cate is insufferable, there are better ways to set up a scene where she does something incredibly stupid, reckless and selfish without everybody just standing there, yelling at her yet allowing her to do the stupid and selfish thing anyways.

Cate turning on the portal machine was super helpful in getting the pod to fly back into Axis Mundi so that Shaw could easily find it and hitch a ride back. Again, it all works out like Domino from Deadpool2 had it planned out.

I agree on the Randa kids, really hurt the show. How does a dude have RBF? They both suck and yes the writing is too convenient. BUT I actually enjoy it, there’s just enough monsters to keep me interested. And Kong looked PISSED that they let that sea creature into his world

Keep in mind this is all before Godzilla versus Kong or even king of the monsters.

But as for the Randa kids, what a drop off for the guy from when he first was introduced.

Outpost 18 is a massive naval ship, which apparently doesn’t have its own captain? That’s pretty ridiculous. Just because somebody is “in charge“ doesn’t make them a ship’s captain.

I’m no naval expert but if you have something that advanced and large, you’re gonna wanna have somebody who knows how ships work. Minimal effort being made here to make the show feel authentic.

But how authentic can a Godzilla and King Kong presentation be?

I’m enjoying this show because it’s an adventure. Cut some of the language out and it’s practically a family show. Kurt Russel and his son keep me engaged, and the late 50s storyline is fun, too.
The only real thing that took me a moment to get adjusted to is the young black American female in Tokyo with dreads, fluent in Japanese (that she learned in 2 years), who is the smart tech wiz. That character feels forced in for the sake of you all know what. Authenticity? Down the drain with her.
But I am enjoying the fun.

The more realistic if feels, the higher the stakes, the better the experience.

"Oh, it's just a movie about aliens and space ships, but yeah, the scene of Spock and Kirk in The Wrath of Khan was kind of a gut punch to watch. "

Or tell me you didn't feel anything when Cooper was getting those video messages from his family in Interstellar.

It's JUST make believe.

Please.

Also, wtf was Shaw doing grabbing the joystick of the super high tech drone and then plunking it into the ocean about? Made him look like a damn idiot, is what. Shaw's probably never played a damn computer game in his life, but he knows best how to operate a drone system that the guy in the chair has spent months if not years training on. but ok....

E3… whoa boy. This writing

How is a super secret military organization like Monarch going to let a rival high-tech company just waltz onto one of their Titan outpost, an one of a kind, high-tech destroyer, size vessel, and just start taking over, integrating their own systems? This makes zero sense.

I know they shoehorned some ridiculous story of them working together, at the start of S2, but even so.

Lost interest in episode three so I had to watch in two parts . Just when I thought Cate couldn’t get more annoying… imagine tuning into the show to catch giant monsters, stomping on cities and fighting each other, but instead getting a whiny little cvnt partying & hooking up at a lesbian bar with an ex gf.

Literally nobody wanted to see that. But then they had to remind us that she’s feeling guilty for letting the Titan out of axis mundi (while returning Lee Shaw), but ignoring everyone around her telling her don’t!

I've got no issue with this new monster, but what's up with the little critters? Similar to Cloverfield, but these things don't seem to immediately go after humans.

And remember, this takes place between G-Day and KOTM, when Ghidorah is broken free from the ice. What happens to Titan X that we don't see it later on?

E4 is a rambling mess & Cate is somehow the key to everything…

Damn, the writing is Sharknado levels of awful.

So the idiots and Monarch allowed Apex to just waltz on to their super secret high-tech boat and install random software? That’s really how these cutting edge high-tech companies work?

“It’s not a bug, it’s a feature!”

Based. Really have to wonder how that line made it into the show.

And just so everyone knows how retarded the writing for this show has become...

SPOIlERS

All of Monarch as well as the entire world believe Titan X is inexpiicably heading for San Francisco, and all anyone has on verification for this is the Apex sensors that were installed on a Monarch vessel Outpost 18 and then we find out that the creature which was "really moving!" was nothing but a ...

whale?

So did Apex mind control a single whale, direct it towards SF, all across the Pacific, and not a single drone, satellite or AWACS could keep up with it ?

Whales don't move that fast. Seriously.

Half way through E5. Still no Godzilla.

What we do have is a guy who, living two lives with two families, being butt hurt that his mommy had a one time affair 60+ years ago.

Seriously? My mind can’t even grasp how ridiculous this is. Oh, and Cate, for inexplicable reasons “heard something“ from the ocean while standing next to the Golden Gate Bridge. What the hell does that even mean?

* Spoilers - somehow someway Cate is the key to everything.

She was fine in Shogun, but in this series, she's simply insufferable.
