I don't have one of these vacs, so maybe I'm ignorant, but why-TF do they have cameras on them? Part of mapping the home and steering it I'm guessing?

Ostensibly yes, but anyone retarded enough to allow just any company, let alone CCP owned appliances access to their private networks and information systems pretty much deserve getting hacked or spied on.

Maps the house and uses the camera/Lidar to avoid obstacles. Mine will send me a picture of what was in the way that shouldn't have been there

Protection Against Invasion (Article IV, Section 4): This clause guarantees that the federal government will protect states from "invasion".
