Looking for a Long Weekend Trip Recs

I am turning 40 this year and it has been suggested to me by my friends and wife that I go on a long weekend trip with the boys.
Currently we are thinking sometime during October. My thoughts right now are:
1. Pinehurst for golf (we all play, just don't play much anymore)
2. Chicago (depends on what the football/hockey/sports schedule looks like)
3. Scottdale (maybe too hot still?)
Where else should I look? We'd we driving/flying out of Shreveport area.

You are turning 40 and your wife deliberately does not want to be a part of it?
She’s getting dicked down by some young buck and she’s sending you on a vacation that will be a total haze where she has no expectations that you will come home early or probably even call.
In all seriousness … once I turned 40 all of the guys trips came to a screeching halt, I realized that I wanna spend as much time as I can with my wife and kids so we do everything together. The older I got on these guys trips the more I found myself wishing that my wife and kids were there to experience it.

This has already happened in the past few years, where on the other side, we have traveled more with the family and had a blast.
It was more of a hey, you care if I plan a guys trip? "no, just keep me in the loop"

Yeah… I wouldn’t say that at all.

Charleston. They is a ton of history and fun things to do for kids. They have a submarine and aircraft carrier you can tour. Fort Sumter, dinner cruise, horse carriage ride, boat rides, see the plantations, tour The Citadel, beach, shems creek...

I would consider Miami. Typically, cheap non stop flights. Not sure from Shreveport but New Orleans always has cheap ones.
You could still do golf, weather would be perfect. Y’all could rent a boat for a reasonable price.

Probably could snag direct flights from SHV to Las Vegas in October for pretty cheap using Allegiant. There's a lot to do even if you don't gamble, especially golf-wise. We got a rental car for a dirt cheap weekend rate by reserving well ahead of time. October is also when you start seeing off-season discounts for attractions and whatnot.

Will be in vegas the month before for BJJ and stuff.

Out of the 3 you mentioned, Chicago in October. There’s just more to do there.
