Billed as Jim Irsay Collection

This unparalleled collection weaves together some of the most significant people, literature and events of recent history: guitars and other instruments once played by all four Beatles, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, David Gilmour, Jerry Garcia, Kurt Cobain, Elton John, Prince, Johnny Cash, Janis Joplin, John Coltrane and Miles Davis; original manuscripts by Jack Kerouac, Jim Morrison and Steve Jobs; legendary sporting artefacts linked to Muhammad Ali, Jackie Robinson, Wayne Gretzky and Secretariat.

A lot of cool stuff in there. That James Brown cape would be dope.

I get that he was an avid collector but this is pretty unseemly to me. For example, the irsay family could easily give the Garcia family Jerry’s guitars back and let them decide what to do with them. It’s not like Jerry sold off his axes for smack money…his luthier got them in the estate lawsuit and immediately cashed them in

in fact all of the families of the deceased would probably want those items back. Some of this stuff is deeply personal.

Anyway

I agree with you on Tiger... That's a 'different' piece compared to the rest of the lot. Hopefully the right person gets Jerry's gear and let's it be played.

It would be nice to include who played these guitars.

It's further down in the X post. The blue lefty guitar was Kurt Cobain, the middle one Jerry Garcia, black Strat, David Gilmour. It also said that Derek Trucks bought Jerry's.

if true that is wonderful. I saw Derek and Susan at the Dead Ahead festival a couple years ago playing with Bobby, oteil, Mickey and Jeff and Derek was amazing playing those songs. That guitar deserves to be played

An X post said that he did, but I don't know if that's been confirmed. He was at the auction with somebody bidding on the guitar. What that relationship is, idk.

ETA: Nevermind, cgrand has the details.
