Back in mid 80's we saw the bus for Asleep at the Wheel broke down on the side of I-10 east bound between El Paso and San Antonio. It's hard to fathom them still around...AND touring!

Hank has always been garbage live, and will probably be even moreso now that he is 76 years old.
But the yahoos still show up to scream "to get drunk" during Family Tradition

I believe it was 1985 when he was here in BR, but couldn't play because he was too drunk.

I'm a huge fan of his, especially some of his ballads. But I wouldn't see him live because I don't want to ruin my impression of him
I've heard his Hank Live album and seen plenty of clips on Youtube. I'm not a fan of singers changing the whole melody of their songs live. I may be an outlier but I want to hear the radio version that I'm familiar with.

I've seen Hank 3 dozen times and you couldn't be more wrong. Will it be the same as the studio cut? Of course not. The Centroplex fiasco in 89 was the only bad show I've been to and he made it up a month later with a monster concert. Dude is 76 now so the energy he had in his 30s and 40s has receeded. He does need to change his set list. And I wish he would get back together with the Bama Band for 1 farewell tour. But go check out his Biloxi show on YouTube from last week. Dude still plenty good.

Ray Benson is a couple of years younger than Hank Jr. Neither are spring chickens but neither know anything but making music.
