Anyone have a suggestion on a mower with the highest blade cut settings that has enough power to cut high grass and won't get stuck in wildlife holes dug in the yard?

I have a two acre property that was neglected and trashed and still has buried landmines like pots, plastic containers, hoses etc hiding.

I have hired clean up crews for the house and parts of the front yard but I have an old uncle living on the property in a side house that keeps throwing shite in the yard.

I blew my engine today on an old Troybuilt mower today, thing was on it's last leg anyway but still, frustration. Loved the white smoke pouring from the exhaust while I limped it back to my garage. Guess it kept the mosquitos at bay.

Property has galvanized chain link fences that I can't get a tractor in there.

Fence posts are made of old rail lines and have a concrete base 18 inches deep by 12 inches wide. Trust me, I had someone move a mini home in for my uncle and they gave up on trying to cut the concrete.

They blow torched on of the rails to pull back the fence and then covered the concrete with dirt to make a ramp for the trailer.

They took their concrete and fence building serious back then. The house is from the 1890's.

Need to add that I can get a skid steer in the all sections to level out the yard.
Those things are damn expensive however but I am looking for a crew to come out and clean stuff up but it won't be long before the animals start new holes after they are gone.

I know its not the answer you want, but youre gonna need to gst that shite outta the way and bush hog it

No conventional lawn mower is made for bush hogging. Two totally different applications. Any badass zero turn has the horsepower but they are built for high blade speed, high vacuum and a clean cut. Bush hogs are made with a shitload of inertia, stump jumpers, folding blades etc. If youre gonna be bush hogging, you need a bush hog.

Yes, I know but was hoping for a "yes same thing happened to me" response.

If I didn't just spend 45 grand on a water well I would have my skid steer with a bucket and a mulcher. Just going to hire one to come in and clear that shite out.

The problem is the things needed to mow a lawn and the things needed to chop up shite are two way different things. One needs high blade speed with no tolerance for impacts and the other needs inertia and torque. No lawn mower that im aware of has any give anywhere except for belt slip. They have no inertia to speak of. Brush cutters have pivoting blades, tons of intertia, clutches or shear pins, a very low gear ratio and rear discharge. You can get a lawn mower with sharp blades and a assload of horsepower rear discharge and a few extra belts and make it through if you want to bad enough.

Doesn't sound too bad..... dig one side and have the same bush hogging tractor...simply drag it out that side with a chain.

Well those concrete emplacements are a solid column around half the property.

The guys that put in the minihouse gave up trying to cut a 4 foot section and digging it out.

That concrete out there is the hardest shite I have ever seen.

I do like the goat idea but I will have to have my big gate rebuilt but I like that idea.

This isn't a one size fits all app.

Best bet would be finding somebody that you can pay, rent, or borrow a brush hog to knock it down.

And then get a nicer riding mower to keep it down.

Alternative- sacrificial lamb- plenty of 42-60" tractor style riding mowers on FB market(because everybody has to have a ZTR to mow there 1/8 acre lot in a subdivision now.

Drop 600$ on a tractor style mower. Sharpen the blades. And use that for a few months until you get it all knocked down and under control. If it breaks you're not out much more than renting a brush hog.

I was kind of in the same boat as you a few years ago. I put a brush cutter blade on my weed eater and although it was time consuming, I initially cut everything with that, then I was able to use my mower.

Sounds like you need to try to find an old John Deere X595 or whatever the modern equivalent is they make these days. We've used one to claw back some pretty unruly sections of some property before. 25hp diesel and 4x4 comes in quite handy.

Spray round up and kill everything. Then you can see what you are dealing with.

Could a bobcat with rotary cutter fit thru fence? Not sure where you are located, but my local hardware store rents equipment and they rent one of those for 150 a day. They are bad arse.
