I'm not calling them critics, because they mostly write Chamber of Commerce type reviews. The Picayune had food greats like Richard Collins, Gene Bourg and Tom Fitz, now we get a bunch of women who won't eat raw fish when they review a sushi bar and apparently can't stand anything too spicy.
They need to clean house, add some guys, or women, with a bit more culinary range and some wine knowledge would be nice too. They are wasting space on the church ladies they have now.

It’s literally all mid-twenties influencer types doing double duty.

John Georges about 8-10 years ago decided he'd let his publication be run by a bunch of enviro-commies who wanted to shite smear the oil & gas and petrochemical industries. The industries who are employing thousands in that area who pay taxes and go out to restaurants and spend money.
Then when money for his rag starts drying up, he has them tweet and send emails begging folks to not only subscribe to "save journalism", but to give donations.
So now he's left with unqualified idiots or complete rookies willing to work for peanuts writing articles and giving food reviews.

Jesus, it’s not that deep. They focus on video and marketing talent on the food side because that’s how non boomers engage with that industry.
