I'm not even going to pretend that I knew who Phil Hendrie is. But the trailer hooked me and I laughed my arse off.

If you don't know his show, he's basically Art Bell if Art Bell had also provided the voices of his craziest guests.

ETA: Beyond Hendrie's humor, it's a really well produced documentary. I'm not a fan of cheap animation covering audio in docs, but they use it so subtly here that it's not a distraction. It lets you focus on the radio broadcast.

Phil Hendrie is a goddamn genius.

Funniest bits were Bobby Dooley and her husband in the background.

The listeners that would call in and RAGE.

Also the bits where he'd impersonate Art Bell and the caller.

I used to listen to him every once and a while when I could pick up KFI on my radio.

Loved his show.

Even worse... my wife gave me her library card so I could create an account there. It doesn't work.

Double cock tease.

During closing credits... they roll the tape of the time Gary Shandling called in to defend himself.

Phil Hendrie is the funniest human alive most people don’t know about.

Been a huge follower since 2003. His radio show from 1999-2006 is hands down the greatest comedy there is. An unreal talent.

I nearly drove off the freeway laughing when I found his show syndicated on a Houston station. He gave it up briefly to do a sitcom and we never got it back when he returned to radio.

It was amazing how many people would call in to argue with his guests even though he always admitted it was him doing all the voices in the last part of the show when he took open lines. He released a video to show how how he picked up phones to switch characters and it was just insane how quickly he could switch voices and improvise.

One line I always remember was from his HOA character Bobbie Dooly talking about her youth in the 1960's, explaining to Phil that it was a different time, "it was the absolute heyday of George Lincoln Rockwell."

Surely you could have searched and found that it's on Tubi free w/ ads, and on the Roku channel.

I've already watched it tonight with my wife's prime account.

And don't call me Shirley.
