Some of you people have mind boggling takes. She had a rough 2nd half but I’ve seen an unbelievable amount of comments saying she was supposed to be an All American and has regressed, is fat and out of shape, is a choker and disappears in big moments, can’t play defense, etc. Let’s check some numbers compared to the other upper classmen on the team, as I don’t expect the freshmen to always play consistent ball…

In conference play only, Mikaylah leads the entire team in minutes played, points, 3pt %, and assists, and leads all the guards in shooting percentage and rebounds.

Mikaylah could probably go out and drop 20-30 points every single game, but she doesn’t take the shot volume to do that. Shes not even top 20 in the conference in shots taken yet she’s our leading scorer in conference. There’s alot of mouths to feed on this team. A lot of talented players that want their shots. Especially in the blowout games against weaker teams when the young girls are getting lots of minutes. She is not at all a point guard, but the offense almost always ends up being ran through her even though we have 2 point guards with tons of minutes and at least 1 is always on the floor with her.

UK loss…MW 26/8/5 on 17 shots. Flaujae 15/1/2, Richard 14/3/2, Joyner 14/5/0, Fulwiley 2/1/1, Koval 2/2/0.

Vandy loss…MW 12/8/6 on 11 shots. Flaujae 0/3/1, Fulwiley 13/7/6, Joyner 4/5/0, Richard 13/2/1, Koval 9/10/0.

Texas win…MW 20/7/4 on 13 shots while also defending Booker all game. Flaujae 10/6/2, Richard 10/1/2, Fulwiley 10/1/2, Joyner 6/9/2, Koval 0/1/0.

OU win…MW 10/6/5 on 8 shots. Flaujae 21/10/3, Richard 21/5/3, Fulwiley 12/6/2, Joyner 0/4/0, Koval 9/7/2.

Alabama win…MW 15/4/5 on 11 shots. Flaujae 9/1/3, Richard 16/4/4, Fulwiley 10/3/4, Joyner 9/4/2, Koval 8/9/0.

Texas loss…MW 20/2/1 on 11 shots while holding Booker to her worst game of the year. Flaujae 11/7/4, Richard 2/0/3, Fulwiley 9/2/5, Joyner 5/2/0, Koval 4/4/0.

South Carolina loss…her worst big game. MW 11/3/2. Flaujae 21/8/1, Richard 7/2/3, Fulwiley 6/4/3, Joyner 8/13/1, Koval 2/1/0.

Duke win (only non conference ranked game)…MW 14/3/7. Flaujae 18/5/3, Richard 6/2/2, Fulwiley 16/5/3, Joyner 14/5/0, Koval 13/4/2.

It looks like until tonight, she’s been the only player on the team that showed up for annd had ann impact on every big game. Fulwiley or Richard or both have been bad for nearly every loss. Flaujae has had games where she disappeared for big chunks of the game. Koval and Joyner are terribly inconsistent.

Fulwiley and Flaujae are both top 10 in the conference in shots taken…Mikaylah isn’t even top 20.

Mikaylah is almost always matched up on the other teams biggest guard…usually gives up a few inches to them because she’s just 6’ and often guarding girls that are 6’2-6’4. Flaujae/Richard/Fulwiley/Hines are all 5’10” and shorter so they can’t guard those types of players.

Just trying to find where the justification for all the hate is, other than she’s built a little stockier than these other guards (which heavily feeds into her play style btw, as she uses her body incredibly well on offense).
