Watching the AT&T with my son and we were talking about Jack's 1-iron in the US Open at #17. If I remember correctly it was 215ish yds then. We just assumed the modern players would be playing a much longer tee box. Very surprised it was only playing 178. And there's big grandstands immediately behind the tee now so not sure they could move back to longer tees. Do they not use that one for the AT&T?
There used to be a cart path immediately in front of those tees but with construction over the years it looks much different.

The tee that they used to use is #4 tee. When we went out there 25 years ago, I hit one from 4 because the pin was on the left hand side of the green. CSB

Lucky bogey for me. Horrible tee shot. Wind was howling left to right

At&t does not set the course up like at a US Open.

Good choice.
I like seeing the best players in the world shoot good scores.
Sometimes the USGA pushes it a bit, but it’s the same for all of them that week so it’s fair.

Me too, TD. Knocked it on 18 in 2 and 3 wiggled. Dinner didn't taste as good that evening.

The green is closer because the back half of the old green crashed into the ocean a number of years ago. They rebuilt it to look the same, but it is bigger than it was, and you can see most of the putting surface from the tee now.

I just jinxed them. Bogey at #8. He’s now in fourth place.
