Watching the AT&T with my son and we were talking about Jack's 1-iron in the US Open at #17. If I remember correctly it was 215ish yds then. We just assumed the modern players would be playing a much longer tee box. Very surprised it was only playing 178. And there's big grandstands immediately behind the tee now so not sure they could move back to longer tees. Do they not use that one for the AT&T?


There used to be a cart path immediately in front of those tees but with construction over the years it looks much different.

The tee that they used to use is #4 tee. When we went out there 25 years ago, I hit one from 4 because the pin was on the left hand side of the green. CSB
