If ai is truly replacing all the software developers then it would be a huge benefit to sw companies.

Reality is that it is not

That’s only because the licenses still cost more than the developers they are intended to replace.

It’s the same path as photoshop replacing professional photographers.

It took years before it was financially feasible to use an editor with photoshop to remove the cost of a professional photographer.

Now it will just take some time for AI costs to come down to remove the need for that editor that was cheaper than the photographer.

…next up is an affordable AI tool can remove the need for an editor that knows how to use adobe product and can be replaced by gig workers.

I wonder how many years away is the day when we simply tell our AI tool to open or create a ______.

It’s already replacing an abundance of apps we used to rely on.

Seems like AI will become a one stop shop. What will be the upside of investing in software production?

, which handles PDFs and other documents, with both down more than 30%.

Some of the biggest stocks in the ETF are also seeing significant hits this year with Microsoft
and Oracle
down 15% and 21% respectively. Salesforce
, Adobe
and ServiceNow
are all down more than 20%.

On the positive side, there isn’t too much panic on the credit side of the equation yet for the sector, according to one banker, with revolving lines of credit not yet being drawn.

Sentiment in the public market could turn soon, with several software companies slated to report earnings over the coming days, some analysts said.

Honestly, given how the market looks right now, I do not think we have hit rock bottom yet. I am waiting more before buying.

Enterprise customers will still need software that can satisfy legal, security and compliance needs, which I doubt they'll develop in-house and will want to source from trusted suppliers.
