Posted in Endless Sleep, but needs it's own thread. What a run they had.
I was a DJ in the early 70s when they played in Lafayette. I got a call from the restaurant they were eating at after the show. They wanted me to play some of their music while they dined and I obliged.

It’s shameful that Three Dog Night is not in the Rock-n-Roll HOF. Great band and a hit machine.

RIP Chuck

Saw a Behind the Music on him and to live to 83 after what he's been through is pretty amazing. Heroin took over his life, left him broke and homeless but he turned his life around. Damn good vocalist, too.

The memories these passings stir up.

I recall being a kindergartner in 1971 at Woodvale Elementary in Lafayette, outside on the playground, on the swing set singing “Joy to the World” with classmates. The “Jeremiah Was A Bullfrog” intro line and the song chorus stuck with everyone. Physically long gone from there but still have the memory.

RIP.

Cory Wells died in 2015. He was my favorite of the three but man they had some magical harmonies.

One Dog...Danny Hutton is all that's left, and he's 83.

And as we were all told, One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do.

Sad news. It's a close call as to who was the better singer, Chuck or Cory Wells.

Chuck had the ability to belt and soar. Such a great voice.

I just watched this a couple of days ago. Chuck still had it even after he completely coked out.

This version absolutely kicks arse! Insane guitar player here.

So I just found out Hoyt Axton released an album in '71 titled Joy to the World that featured Never Been to Spain and, you guessed it, Joy to the World. Three Dog Night would cover both songs that same year.

I had the good fortune of meeting Cory Wells about a year or two before he died. Never knew who he was till the end of our conversation which blew me away. I loved Three Dog Night through the years. RIP Chuck Negron. You were Gold!

I was driving an airport shuttle from a resort in Tempe I worked at. We hosted a Gamers weekend gathering at the resort. Cory was the only one on the shuttle. We're talking about his visit there and he mentions an old place in Tempe he sang at in the 60's. That lead us to talking about music which lead to him divulging he sang in Three Dog Night. Later other attendees confirmed it was him. Just as humble as could be.
