All three of the major recruiting services have finalized the player rankings for the 2026 recruiting class, and LSU pulled off something impressive.
While a handful of EDGE rushers finished among the 32 5-star prospects this past recruiting cycle, only two defensive linemen were 5-stars in the final On3 Industry Rankings.

Brown remains ranked as the No. 1 athlete on the Rivals rankings, while Anderson checks in as a Top 20 overall prospect and Top 3 defensive lineman in the country.
With ESPN and 247 both updating the final rankings as well, Brown finished his time at University High as a Top 5 overall prospect, regardless of position, and the No. 1 defensive line recruit in the class.
Anderson, who won multiple state titles at Edna Karr as a dominant defensive tackle, landed inside the Top 20 on Rivals, but finished at No. 32 overall on the Rivals Industry Rankings.
With 32 total 5-stars handed out, both Brown and Anderson will forever carry the 5-star label while also staking claim to finishing as the No. 1 and No. 2 defensive linemen in the entire 2026 class.

I had an Ole Miss fan tell me good luck with Kiffin because he doesn't like to recruit high school players. The truth is, CLK didn't recruit high school kids to Ole miss because he couldn't. At LSU its a different animal and he sacrificed a playoff run to be the head coach of LSU because he is playing the long game with the hope of building a dynasty, something he would never be able to do at Ole Miss.

2 elite lineman on Kiffins doorstep. That’s why he came here.
It’s like when BK had Campbell and Emery Jones fall in his lap.
You don’t get that shite at ole miss

Was told by a current HC, former LSU D coordinator (yes him) DL was THE most important position by far for today’s defenses.

People are still confused as to why he left Ole Miss to here.

So how is Dave Aranda?
What wasn't talked about nearly enough was LSU's BELOW AVERAGE DL. They could stop the RB pretty well but left running lanes for the QB. And the pass rush was non-existent which is why LSU time and time again gave up 3rd and longs...either the QB ran for 15 yards or a pass was completed for 12.

That's what Ole Miss is.
In order for Ole Miss to be competitive year end and year out they have to depend on the portal to get talent they can't get recruiting.
Personally, I think Kiffin wants to build a legacy. A Nick Saban type of legacy. Or maybe I hope he wants to build a legacy.. In order to do so he has to go to a school where he can recruit well and be able to fill in the holes every year with top talent from the portal.
Saban was 48-49 when he came to LSU. He was 55 when he took the Alabama job. Kiffin is 50. I think he wants to become the king of college football.. And he is at the right place.. I hope

I totally agree with the DL statement. LB have dropped down in importance due to the spread offenses which explains why many teams only have 2 starting LB.
Well, what is happening is contraction of the position, but not quite the same as, say, fullback (frankly, the most comparable offensive position to linebacker). You still need linebackers. But, you need fewer of them and you need them to be studs. And that has led to the rise of the hybrid/hybrid - something between a strong safety/free safety/linebacker (what LSU calls the Star). And that is a very specific sort of athlete.
