Recent Grad Trying To Get Season Tickets

Hey y’all. So I’ve been a student at LSU the past 4.5 years and really want to buy season tickets for this season. I haven’t missed a home game the past 5 seasons and went to three road games (Auburn 2022, Bama 2023, Clemson 2025) and also the Texas Bowl this year.
I know about the ticket request and sort of the idea of the priority point system but a little confused so thought I would ask here. How much do I need to donate to have a realistic shot of getting decent seats or any seats at all. Trying to get two seats for me and my dad. Thanks

In hindsight if you had asked this question after the A&M game you would have had a much higher success rate getting a very good deal!

There is a recent grad ticket program. You just have to find it on the TAF website and sign up. It’s like $50 and you can buy two tickets to home games.

I can't answer that question but I will say I will be selling my entire season allotment this year. While my daughter is in high school it's just too hard to make enough games and enjoy them for the cost but I want to hold them in my name for now. I will say, they will be slightly above face value + my required tradition fund donation but not by much (ballpark $2k for both). I would have the ability to add seat-backs as well if someone wanted them. If you're interested, drop your email address and I'll email you.

Unfortunately you missed it by one year.. last year you could pretty much get season tickets with minimal effort.. it was one of the weakest upgrade/add/new tickets event I have seen for years..
With the new staff and excitement I am guessing we are back to what it was a few years ago.. I had a friend drop 5k and got into the stadium.. years before that you had to drop a lot more.. and these are just seats in ok areas..
Best suggestion is to join taf for a minimum amount.. do it yearly… you get a few points and at least seperate yourself from other new people trying .. donate another 200 bucks or so .. I think you get your best bang for buck by just giving something.. it will be written out for you… ..and try every year to get into selection line.. for some reason I thought they had a recent grads program to help y’all get into the stadium.. look into that and see if my memory is correct..
To be honest .. as others often mention.. you do better buying aftermarket and going to most average games and splurging on the occasional big one..

Before NIL and the Wild Wild West of buying players, this was the TAF point system set-up from 2022. (see below) Just a wild arse guess for today, you're gonna have to donate $25,000 to even be recognized for fairly decent seats. Others will chime in with their personal experiences. Donate what you can afford and slowly work your way of the list.
TAF - 2022
1x point per $1,000 for all donations to the Tradition Fund, Premium Seating contributions, LSU Foundation, LSU Alumni Association, LSU Health Sciences Foundations, and the Pennington Biomedical Research Foundation.
2x points per $1,000 for all donations to Booster Clubs, Excellence Funds, and Philanthropic Funds outside of Capital Projects, the AD’s Excellence Fund, or Scholarship Endowments.
4x points per $1,000 for all donations to Team TAF, which directly support LSU student-athlete scholarships.
5x points per $1,000 for donations between $25,000 - $99,999 towards Capital Projects, the AD’s Excellence Fund, or Scholarship Endowments (pledged over a 5-year period).
6x points per $1,000 for donations of $100,000 or more towards Capital Projects, the AD’s Excellence Fund, or Scholarship Endowments (pledged over a 5-year period).
In 2026, the bar has been re-set at a much higher level for LSU to afford coaches and players

Let me put it to you like this,
Save your money.. I graduated in 2014, I have three on the Eastern Sidelines.. Just take what you can get and relocate whenever you find an opening during your time slot. I haven't truly been able to move to a better spot in the last few years. No matter how much you spend, people with a lot more money will jump you.

Thanks. I’m going to look into this. That would be perfect. And then if the seats aren’t great at least I’m in the stadium and might splurge on one or two games

Last few years you could pretty much get into the stadium by just asking to be put on the list.. this would result in seats somewhere… but years before that ( even with donations and points.. I did not even make the to be considered list)….it took years and donations before I could even get on the to be considered list. And took upper deck seats.. wanted some in lower section home side.. took a few years and eventually found good seats together in lower home sideline ( this was due to recent poor lower interest )
Hopefully just applying allows you to get on the to be considered list.. not sure if new coach will take us back to where the process was years ago.?
But donate something.minimal .. join taf . get some points.. this will seperate you from others who just ask to be put in the list..
One point at least takes you out of the large last minute inquiry bucket.

Last year was the first year I applied and I got them. Didn't donate squat besides the required tradition fund. Then I couldn't sell them for shite throughout the year bc we sucked so bad plus the shootings. No idea if it'll be that easy this year

Great view and seems a good deal when the product on the field is fun to watch.

I would imagine that being a recent grad your financial situation is a little tight. So it may take awhile.
I bought season tickets, Joe Burrow‘s first season. Started out in the north end zone, they were surprisingly inexpensive.
I stayed there a few years and then moved over to the east side and now I’m in section 106 by the students. Every year I apply to upgrade.
I started out by making thousand dollar donations here and there to get priority points and eventually joined the Oaks foundation at the lowest level which is 5000 a year for five years. That moves you up pretty quickly. When I first signed up, I think I was like number 11,623 on the priority rankings. That’s just spit balling of course. I could actually go on the app and look now but I think I’m up around 1750 now.
Season ticket holders and being an Oaks supporter comes with Perks. You can buy tickets at face value to all the away games and get good seats.
You will be assigned a TAF contact who can get you free tickets to all other sporting events (within reason) and you have access to private tailgates and free tickets to just about any other thing you wanna go to. For example, they gave me 4 free tickets to the Zach Bryan concert coming up in Tiger Stadium.
Good luck
If you really are on a tight budget then just buy online for now
Wait and buy 30 minutes before kickoff and prices will drop fast…
Once you get season tickets BUY THE SEATBACKS. So much more comfortable and your space is defined.
They are only $75 per seat per season

If nothing else works, there will be people selling their season tickets but they won’t be in your name.

You can also talk to TAF. They have tickets as well.

quote:yeah my friend signed up for the recent grad tix and it was so cheap he never asked me for money once and you still sat in the student section. He got those for a long while too, we graduated in 2014 and went with him to A&M, Florida in 2019. Fun nights! Don’t know how he was still getting them 5 years later but that’s a hell of deal if you can get them for that long postgrad still
