I often complain (to myself) about these threads but here goes. Booking 4/5 night trip for 2 people in February so somewhere tropical. I’ve been to San Juan probably 20 times but basically no where else. Need:

- Somewhere I can get to with Delta companion pass. Basically Honduras and north.

- beach primary focus. Pool second. Food third.

- I am also interested in Mayan ruins but my wife has no interest. Same for outdoor activities, though to a lesser degree.

- not big drinkers so nightlife is not really a concern, maybe a negative if anything.

- no looking to break the bank but had a good year last year so willing to spend some money.

- I’d probably prefer Marriott/hilton then Airbnb then resort. My wife would prefer something nicer but okay with Marriott/hilton too.

Isla Mujere? Roatan? A little overwhelmed by the number of choices.

Aruba is not at the very top of my choices but the weather and water should be good and the Ritz which is a Marriott property is nice.

New Zealand is warm right now.

More beaches than you could ever hope to visit.

Just got back from Panama.

The La Compania Casco Viejo and the La Compania Del Valle de Anton were both great properties but unfortunately South of Honduras and Hyatt.

However, Delta does fly there from ATL.

The entire Southern Hemisphere is, but he said 4/5 night trip. Northern South America is probably as far as makes sense.

Tulum - stay at the Conrad tulum (or one the other great hotels). great did scene. Drive out to Copa to see the ruins, which are really beautiful and cool. could spend some time swimming in the cenotes. Ocean on here is a tulum expert.

Someone already mentioned it here and there is a current thread on it. Sounds like Aruba (Palm Beach) is a good fit. Easy to get around , lots of accessible restaurants and a beautiful beach.

Have you looked at Belize? Several great ruin sites there (Xunantunich is unreal and worth the drive). Great beaches and snorkeling. You could probably find a really nice AirBNB/Vrbo property.

They speak English there, too.

I also love Puerto Vallarta this time of year. Tons of great resorts on the Nayarit side of the bay (north). Hyatt has a Ziva all inclusive south of the old town (Zona Romantica). Day trip to Yelapa to get away from the crowds; it’s only accessible by boat.

Cabo is a great option, too. The resorts there all have great pool areas because you can’t really swim in the ocean water.
