Yallallcrazy and I fished with KemoSabe65 yesterday and the target was redfish. Target acquired. My only complaint was, they were mostly too big. Dead shrimp and Gulp thrown in moving water. Some puppies thrown in. A couple keeper flounder. No question my best redfish trip of my life.

Where's that stubby clubbed foot Pic of yours?

Great fish though

Nice haul.

We crushed them like that in February many years ago. We did it 3 days in a row. Between the 5 of us we had redfish for days. We threw a big party when we got home and must have cooked 50+ redfish on the half shells for a big group of friends.

I can neither confirm nor deny that, but I do know the answer.

I edited my comment. Glad y'all had a good trip. It was chilly I bet. Even though I know we went in February, we were definitely wearing shorts and sandals.

It was an afternoon trip and the lake was glass. Not cold at all until late and on the drive back.

Thats a good trip!

We tore up the trout pretty good around new years.

Found a few reds one morning when trout shut off.

Fishing with Kemosabe is a bucket list item for me. I hear he is the fish whisperer.

My buddy went to where he’s been smoking the reds on crankbaits yesterday and the salinity was way low and the water muddy. Suspect he’s fishing well North of you guys.

Did just get a message that he and his buddy smoked them today south end of Sabine. 30+ fish day. What fun.

Probably, Cal Pt was very muddy and report I got was Prien muddy.
South Sabine can be a magical place in the winter.

Parish will be closing it for demo and rebuild work soon. Bait shop has to be rebuilt as all of the concrete isn’t structurally sound. Dock is being demoed also and it’s probably a year long project.
Elaine and Dell had a hard time the past few years, lost $$ worth of bait when it got fresh. I don’t think it’s financially viable now or ever, never got into her business but there’s not much money in it.

I briefly looked into it when the permit for ownership became available. Without the possibility of a liquor license the profitability of that place tanks

Haven’t quoted liquor liability in years and I suspect it would be sky high with a water location.
Doug said he doesn’t plan to ever sell beer at Spicers. That place could move hundreds of cases a week form May to October.
I had numbers on bait sales for another place at one time. Problem now is snoopy is the only bait boat and he supplies HFC and Spicers.
Steve was supplying Cal Pt & Spicers.

Don’t serve it. Just sell it

And Holly Beach bait moved to Spicers. Is Herberts back open?
