Checked first page and didn’t see so don’t know if Germans and don’t care if it is. Who be on board for watching baseball in tiger stadium? Heard it on micd up and they thought it was a great idea. I’d go watch for the novelty of it. What about you?

don't we have a stadium across the street for activities such as this?

What's the point, it's like playing basketball in the Superdome, venue is way too big for the event.

Playing a baseball game in Tiger Stadium is almost impossible. The physical dimensions of the stadium do not allow geometry to produce a regulation baseball field. For example, the right field foul pole would land at roughly 200 feet, which is drastically below the 300 to 330-foot minimum. But the problem becomes even more extreme when you look at how right field would have to be configured: right field would literally end up on top of the east side bleachers.
This is the same broader issue that explains why football stadiums generally can’t be dual-use for baseball: baseball demands a wide, asymmetrical, semi-circular outfield, whereas football infrastructure is built as a narrow rectangle with steep seating stacks close to the sidelines. You can’t expand the outfield into the stands without either (a) demolishing seating, or (b) construct collapsable bleachers.
Tiger Stadium has no such engineering. It has no collapsible structures, no removable seating, no modular walls, no hidden outfield turf, and no structural clearances. Right field cannot be “made” it already belongs to the east side bleachers.

I’m not trying to justify it or explain how it’s possible. They thought it would be a great idea. I’m just asking if people would or would not go and watch.

Imagine a world cup game in Death Valley
That would be nuts

saw an exhibition there when I was at LSU, Yankees and Orioles iirc, the dome wasn't really a good venue for that, lighting was poor, and there was a big seam with a hump in it between the mound and home plate, I saw many games in the Astrodome and always thought it was a great place for baseball(except the Astros always sucked back then)

there was an early season tournament there every year in the from the late 80s through the 90s. It was called the Winn-Dixie Showdown. LSU and Tulane were in it every year with the other two teams coming from all over the country. A lot of big name schools played in it. We also played in a tournament like that at the Metrodome in Minneapolis back in the 90s as well

When FIFA first awarded the US the 2026 World Cup a 8 years ago, Tiger Stadium was on the preliminary list to potentially be a host, but it was contingent on having construction completed to widen the field to meet the minimum FIFA standards and LSU didn't want to do it.

It fit 100k people?
But to answer the question, yes I would like to see it. Is it possible, no. Going diagonal from fence to fence isn't enough for centerfield with some room for behind home plate. Right/Left field would be less than 200 ft.

Plenty of PVC pipe to use for foul poles.

Not possible. Kind of a silly idea from Mahtook

Yeah, I was thinking the dimensions wouldn't work for that either.
I don't want them doing anything to the strucutre that might widen the field. The built confines of the Tiger Stadium lower bowl as they are, are about the closest thing to perfection for football viewing as there is.

So a hypothetical that cannot possibly happen because the dimensions don't work. The field is 53.3 yards wide (160'). Even adding the player area to the fence would only add at most another 60'
