The concept certainly sounds like a great idea.
Just looking for some real feedback on experiences and suggestions.
Thanks, in advance.

What are you wanting to use it for? I have purchased several over the years for work, but it was mainly for keeping Sat Phones, GPS, and Radios charged. If you are wanting one for heating, running a refrigerator, etc you are going to be limited.

What about servers, modems, and security systems?

Are the large ones for whole home use worth it?

I have an Ecoflow Delta Pro that is powered by four 365 watt solar panels. The Pro is connected to my house with a six circuit transfer switch. I use this on sunny days to power most of my house. Ecoflow has bigger whole house versions. My total cost was about $3,000. I have a smaller EF Delta 2 for smaller items if necessary.

Is it safe to assume there is a way to hook up such a system to my present transfer switch that runs 6 circuits also?
Can you provide a link to your equipment?

quote:no such thing. There are however solar rechargeable batteries, which have the same pros and cons as any other batteries. It’s all about storage capacity. They have their place and are game changers for longer term camping, RVs, etc

This is the setup that I have. Even though the Pro is refurbished it comes with a full warranty.

Thanks
My transfer switch plug in is on the exterior of my home. That transfer switch set up looks identical to mine other than plug-in location.
How many watts is your solar screen?
Would you do this all over again?

How are you running your whole house on a 4500W peak generator?
Are you manually doing something to decide if you are running the house on solar or electric?
Where are your solar panels?
I’d be interested in something like this but just to run a few things, and charge my car overnight. I think these generators could easily run your whole house minus the AC and electric stove and water heater.

To answer your last question first - yes I would without a doubt, but with a bigger system. If I were to move I would want to make sure I could use solar.
My system has four 365 watt panels which are on my shed. I put them there due to if I put them on my house I would have to get a permit which is a PITA where I live at. I paid an electrician to install the transfer switch and I paid someone to install the solar panels. I bought the solar panels on Marketplace brand new for a fraction of the cost. I installed all of the solar wiring myself. Each day as the sun rises I tell my wife "free power".
The Delta Pro and the models above it are very expandable. The Pro can be charged up by solar, AC power or inverter generator which I have setup with an interlock. My entire solar setup cost around $3,000. Below is a link to Ecoflow. Most of their equipment can be bought much cheaper on the Ecoflow Ebay site.

I switched my electric water heater and stove to propane several years ago. I have a 6,250watt inverter generator that is connected to an interlock. I have to start the generator and switch the interlock.
Ecoflow has an automatic switch for bigger solar generators. I have to manually switch from AC power to EF power by flipping some breakers. My transfer switch is in my garage. My solar panels are on my shed. These bigger units could run the entire house and they could be charged by either solar, AC power or an inverter generator. The bigger units would need a lot more solar than have a space for.
